Twitter is a fast-paced world, it's the epitome of the real-time web. People want information and they want it "now." It's a pretty disposable world as well, tweets come and go and if you don't manage to see them when they first show up, they'll get buried beneath a flood of others.

But Twitter now has an alternative, what if you could enjoy the best tweets of the week at your own leisure and from your email client. Yes, there is now a weekly digest newsletter for Twitter.

That may have been utterly boring if this was anything else besides Twitter, which is as far away from weekly newsletters as you can get.

"Starting today, you can discover the best of Twitter in a weekly email digest delivered to your inbox. This summary features the most relevant Tweets and stories shared by the people you’re connected to on Twitter," Twitter said in a blog post.

"Stories feature a design similar to the recently updated Discover tab, emphasizing who shared each story beneath summaries to help you decide which ones matter most to you. Click any headline to finish reading the story, add your take by tweeting directly from the email, and see related Tweets from the people you follow," it explained.

Twitter has been working hard on "discovery" lately, which is something the service is lacking. It's easy to keep up if you're constantly using Twitter, but finding new people to follow or making sure that you don't miss out on great tweets or discussions is harder.

The email digest helps with this as well, since it features tweets from people you don't follow that have proven popular with the people you do. You'll be able to check out who has commented or replied to the original tweet, from your network, and engage with the conversation as well. Everyone will start getting new weekly newsletters in the coming weeks.
