Twitter is rolling out a batch of changes and new features. There are new mobile apps for the iPad, the iPhone and Android. One of the new features available in the new apps but also on the site is a header photo, a new way of customizing your Twitter profile.
The header photo shows up on top of your tweets on your profile page on Twitter.com, but also on the mobile apps.
The placement and look is the same across all platforms, the layout and sizes vary obviously. You can upload a new header image on Twitter's design settings
page.
Until now, all that Twitter users had to express themselves was the profile avatar. Twitter is taking a page out of Facebook's and Google+'s playbook with the new feature. On the web, users can also provide a background image for their profile.
