The official Twitter account of Niall Horan of One Direction – an account with over 12 million followers – has been hacked. Apparently, the hacker has sent direct messages to Horan’s fans and started following various accounts.

“Ok my twitter is being hacked as we speak! Unfollowing people! DMin people all kinda stuff! Will get control again,” Horan wrote a few hours ago on Twitter.

“Ok I'm back! I hate hackers! Pain in the [backside]!” he later added.

Some of the artist’s fans have been doing some research and they’ve found that the account had been hacked some time ago.

“In the past two weeks we started to notice a pattern with who Niall chose to follow and how they gained their follow. After a long time of researching, and gathering proof we came up with the conclusion that Niall's account is being hacked,” they wrote.

They believe the user “JasmineOrigin,” whose account has been shut down, is responsible for the breach.
