The official Twitter account of famous German footballer Mario Götze, @MarioGoetze,‎ has been hacked.

In most cases when the Twitter accounts of celebrities are compromised, the hacker takes the opportunity to post spam tweets. In this case, the attack was targeted and the hacker’s intention was simply to troll the Bayern Munich football player.

The attacker altered Götze's Twitter profile description to read “Full time traitor. Chamakh is king.”

The tweets posted from Götze’s account also reference Marouane Chamakh, the Moroccan footballer who currently plays in the English Premier League for Crystal Palace.

“Dortmund revenge. Chamakh 4 ballon D’or,” the hacker wrote from the hijacked account.

He added, “Chamakh is god. Chamakh>messi+ronaldo.”

Götze has recovered his Twitter account and removed the messages posted by the hacker.
