The attacker abused the account to send out spam tweets

The verified Twitter account of Jordana Brewster, the Brazilian-American actress best known for her role as Mia Toretto in the Fast & Furious movies, has been hacked.

It appears the cybercriminals used the account to send out spam tweets.

“Please ignore tweets (except for this one) my account seems to have been hacked,” Brewster wrote on Twitter after noticing the incident around 15 hours ago.

“All good now,” she later added.

The messages posted by the hacker have been removed, so I’m not sure where they led to, but it couldn’t have been anything good.

It’s possible that the actress is just another victim of the cybercriminals who use hijacked celebrity accounts to promote shady diet websites. Brewster’s 177,000 followers make a great potential victim base.
