The media has been flooded in the past week with reports from Sochi speaking of unsanitary conditions in hotel rooms, unfinished buildings and a general state of dishevelment, despite Russian authorities claiming they were ready for the start of the sporting event.

Making fun of all material presented online, a Twitter account called @SochiProblems, aims to expose the entire spectrum of issues related to the Sochi Olympics, while at the same time poking fun at this poor state of affairs.

After the opening ceremony aired on Thursday night, the profile quickly went viral, increasing in followers and in posts. It became so popular that it quickly surpassed in activity the official Games account @Sochi2014, which has 133 thousand followers, while the satire account has 144 thousand.

One of the recurring jokes at the moment is the photo of announcer Bob Costas in which he is portrayed with a red eye. The profile jokingly tweeted “Bob Costas did you not listen to us and drink water,” referring to several accounts of brownish water flowing in hotel rooms.

The account also includes jokes from people across the social platform, like the portrayal of the Olympic circles as toilet seats, a clear reference to some reports regarding the poor state of toilets in Sochi.

Some of the journalists that are reporting from Sochi, have chosen to use this platform to expose all the issues from Sochi, which include unfinished streets and buildings, packs of stray dogs running around the Olympic complex, dodgy food and unsanitary conditions.

A quick look on the profile will surely make you laugh out loud at some of the outrageous photos and status updates. At the moment, it's still unsure who is behind the Twitter profile that has listed as its tagline: “I'm a mess, and not prepared for you!”
