Twistbox Entertainment announced it has acquired all the assets of Infospace's Mobile Games Studio located in San Mateo, California. Formerly known as Atlas Mobile, the Studio is a pioneer in the Play for Prizes business across the major carriers in North America that includes multiplayer tournaments and loyalty campaigns for consumer and entertainment brands. The Studio will be integrated into Twistbox Games, the company's mobile games division, which is headquartered in Dortmund, Germany and maintains studios in Germany, Poland and the U.S.

"This acquisition is a perfect fit for our value added mobile game strategy, and complimentary to our existing titles and on-deck distribution in over 40 countries," stated Ian Aaron, CEO of Twistbox. "By integrating Play for Prizes into our current RapidPort development and porting platform, we will be able to accelerate the delivery of new games to market, provide broad handset support, and bring our carrier and content partners new and innovative ways to reach and retain customers."

Following the acquisition, Twistbox Entertainment will be introducing three new titles to the market including "SuperSlyder for Prizes", "Take Yer Meds for Prizes" and "Card Player Poker for Prizes". Existing Play for Prizes titles such as "Trickshot Pool for Prizes", "Solitaire for Prizes", "Boulder Dash for Prizes" and "Skee-ball for Prizes" will be made available to carrier partners across Twistbox's direct distribution network, which spans North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Twistbox Play for Prizes services include development and porting, campaign management, in-game advertising and promotions, and prize fulfillment. In addition, the company is offering a set of APIs that enable publishers to add Multiplayer Tournaments for Prizes to their titles.
