A few days ago, Summit Entertainment announced that fans purchasing the Ultimate Fan Edition of the “New Moon” DVD would have the chance to see no less than 7 full minutes of never before released “Eclipse” footage. The DVD becomes available on March 20 but, according to the official Twitter page of the movie studio, fans will not have to wait that long for their first glimpse at the third installment of the highly successful franchise.

The first official trailer from “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” will be released on March 12, when “Remember Me,” Robert Pattinson’s latest movie, arrives in theaters, Summit says on Twitter. Of course, fans were sort of hoping for that and could think of no better way to introduce the new trailer than by attaching it to Pattinson’s much-hyped romance story, which also features “Lost” star Emilie de Ravin and Pierce Brosnan.

“Thanks for over 250K of the greatest fans in the world! You have been guessing right this whole time... The #Eclipse Trailer will play with REMEMBER ME in theatres on March 12! Stay tuned for more information on where you can see it earlier that week,” Summit says on Twitter. More details about this are not available at this time, but the movie studio will certainly make good on its promise and will offer all the information fans need in due time.

These past few days have been filled with surprises for Twi-hards all over the world, as we also reported. First, a new set of stills from the film were released, with the majority of them showing Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) kissing, hugging or simply gazing into each other’s eyes. A single photo hinted at the kind of action scenes fans might expect, showing Edward being manhandled by Victoria and her acolyte.

Even better, fans might actually catch a glimpse of “Eclipse” before the official release of the trailer, as chances are high Summit will air footage from it during the Academy Awards ceremony that takes place on March 7. This is not confirmed in any way, though it would be the wisest decision on part of the organizers because of the kind of revenue it would generate from advertising alone. So, while it’s wishful thinking for the time being, it’s highly probable wishful thinking.
