Ever seen a Twentieth Anniversary Mac (TAM)? Do you know how much these babies went for back in 1997? If you do, then you must also understand how "historical" it must feel to open up your very own,
never-touched TAM, bought on eBay. Alfred DiBlasi, the buyer, both filmed and took photos of the unboxing. Check them out below.

The TAM was introduced by Apple in May of 1997, to mark the 20th anniversary of Apple Computer, not of the Macintosh. The system was built to look like a cutting-edge system, but used common components and technologies that had been available for quite some time. Specs included a 2 GB hard drive and 32 MB of memory. The machine is said to have been sold for around $7,500. The TAM was criticized for being overpriced and under-powered. It was discontinued on March 14, 1998.

Mac fans are surely going to get the tingles watching this 22-minute unboxing video of the TAM. Also, if you think or know that you may have a heart condition, don't worry, "decapitated-Mac" is just the cherry on top.

As soon as the TAM's actual packaging is revealed, you will surely be impressed by the amount of hardware and wiring available inside. Everything has its own box and packaging. The TAM shipped with its own sound system and the pictures below will reveal to you one of the strangest-looking subwoofer connectors ever, as well as some ancient ADB ports, the rear panel, and the TAM's exposed backside. You will need to watch the video to see the TAM actually boot up and play a nifty Apple presentation. They were as good at predicting the future back then as they are now.

The AA batteries that came with the Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh (calm down, they didn't damage the TAM) expired in January 2001, when they probably began to leak acid. Luckily, they just stained the cardboard a little.

So, are you ready to witness history in the making?

Well well well...
I remember how I brought my Apple Cube home back in 2001 and ceremoniously proceeded to unpack it before my wife's eyes.
She was flabbergasted with superior futuristic design, the build quality and the packaging of this exceptional product.
And guess what? I still run it at home, fully upgraded, with ADC 22" Cinema. It still works better than my new IBM notebook at work!
The MacMini that I had tried was given back. Too slow it was.
