TweetDeck for the Web and Chrome Adds Powerful New Filters

Twitter may be mostly focused on its transformation into a media company, but it remembers its power users from time to time.

The TweetDeck web app and the Chrome version have gotten an update which adds a set of filters to make it possible to create custom columns.

It's a big addition that greatly expands the usefulness of TweetDeck. There are four types of filters, all self-explanatory.

Users can choose what type of tweets to display, whether to only show tweets with photos, videos or links. It's also possible to display only tweets that contain certain keywords or, alternatively, exclude certain words. Finally, users can choose to exclude retweets from the feed.

The filters are available for all columns, except for direct messages, which makes sense. The feature is already available for web and Chrome users, if you're not seeing it yet just refresh the page.
