New look improves overall usability of the application

A week ago Twitter launched a fresh TweetDeck for the web and Chrome browser. Now they rolled out the changes for the desktop version of the application as well.

The new look is designed to significantly improve usability of the program by moving the controls to the right side of the interface. This allows easy skipping to columns that are not visible because of reasons such as the user-defined size of the interface or position beyond screen display limits.

For configurations with a large number of columns, the developer made the icons in the side panel scrollable so any of them can be accessed with ease. The side-bar is expandable so it can also show the titles of the columns, not just the icons.

Search functionality and the “new tweet” button are positioned at the top of the bar while lists and the settings section can be accessed from the lower part.

At the moment of writing, there is no desktop version for Mac systems, so the download link below will take you to build 2.7.1.
