TweetDeck Inc. has released an incremental 2.0.1 update to its popular iOS application adding support for image uploading via Twitpic and Mobypicture, as well as new abilities, like adding a column of your own tweets.

TweetDeck is a useful sidekick application for Twitter and Facebook users as it brings together their feeds in a powerful and flexible column-based dashboard, enabling them to better monitor, manage and engage in their social world.

Version 2.0 is a completely rewritten app for iPhone users. According to the developers, it was “rebuilt from the ground up to be fast, flexible and full-on powerful.”

All major Twitter features are supported, including sending updates, retweeting (native and old-style), favorites, mentions, direct messages, as well as searching.

Facebook functions include status updates, notifications, wall posts, Likes and comments.

As noted above, version 2.0.1 takes all this a step further.

The new TweetDeck adds support for image uploading via Twitpic and Mobypicture. Users are told to change their preference in the iOS Settings.

The default image upload service has been changed to Twitpic.

Now, TweetDeck has the ability to edit the title of a custom column in the Column Settings screen (accessed via the "pinch" gesture, then the cog icon), and lets users add a column of their own tweets via the Add Column screen.

To do this, tap the + in the top left and tap your Twitter account name, the developers instruct.

A couple of bug fixes are also documented in the release notes for TweetDeck 2.0.1.

• Fixed the setting of a reply when the Tweet was edited to not be a reply • Fixed user search error when using more than one search term

TweetDeck is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later.
