Spark Unlimited's reality shooter, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is ready to let you take a quick glimpse at what this game's going to be about: a demo is now available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Here the players will get the chance to play through the first game scenario and decide if this Codemasters release is worthy of spending some Microsoft Points on.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty comes with an "alternate-reality" story, similar to the real time strategy World in Conflict: it's the year 1953 and the undefeated Third Reich launches a surprise attack on the gateway to the United States of America, razing the Statue of Liberty.

The demo begins in the chaos that follows afterwards and allows you to control Dan Carson, a New York construction engineer, that happens to be around when all this hell breaks loose. You will see as the invasion intensifies, as the skies are covered with Zeppelins, jet aircrafts and assault blimps. While under enemy fire, with buildings collapsing around him, the player has to ran for his life, dashing along girders, finding ladders or jump from girder to girder to safety.

While it's not the most exciting thing you could expect, you'll still get to try the combat system a little, as you will have to fight paratroopers who descend on the building, grapple, disarm and finally throw them off the roof. But for an engineer it's too much already.

If you enjoy this demo, you should probably expect for even more from the full game, which is going to arrive soon for the Xb0x 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Unfortunately, that "coming soon" could mean anything, as no release date has been set. However, you will most likely have enough time to get ready for a World War II that never happened.
