Kickstarter is a popular crowdfunding platform where you can promote an innovative idea and get the required funding from backers around the world that share the same passion as you do.

Serious photography gear is quite expensive, and photographers sped thousands of dollars on beautifully engineered gear only to hide it away when they're not using it.

What if we told you that you could turn some of your photo gear into a beautiful floor or desk lamp? Well, now you can, using the new Phlite system promoted on Kickstarter by London-based company Enlight Photo.

With Phlite you will be able to transform your tripod, lightstand, or digital camera into a cool floor lamp, table lamp, or desk lamp with the utmost ease.

Phile can be easily attached to your camera via hot shoe or to anything with a 1/4-20'' tripod thread or larger 3/8'' lightstand thread thanks to Phlite's patent pending DualThread clip.

In addition to that, Phlite comes with a premium woven textile power cable as well as a cable exit so the lamp will sit flat on your desk when it’s not attached to your camera or other photo gear.

Moreover, a velcro tab that allows you to secure the cable to your tripod or at floor-level for child safety is also included.

Phlite is available in large and small sizes that can accommodate any type of tripod, lightstand, or digital camera. The smaller size is ideal for your cameras, while the larger lamp size can easily fit your tripod or lightstand.

The company also plans to offer free downloadable patterns that can be added to your Phlite lamp, giving it more personality. No matter the type of your camera (vintage, retro, or DSLR), Phlite will turn it into something that you can enjoy even when you're not shooting with it.

If you like Phlite, you can head to their Kickstarter project page where for £40 / €48 / $65 you could get your own large Phlite lamp and support its development. Phlite already has a few backers and 29 days to go to meet its £25,000 / €30,000 / $40,000 goal.
