The installation is not all that complicated, but it will take some doing

If you ever get bored of the way Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Unity looks, you can always try to emulate Mac OS X with a simple theme.

A lot of themes are available for Ubuntu and other distributions that make the operating system resemble Mac OS X, but there are few that work well with Unity. Prometheus is one of those select few.

According to its designer, Juan Pablo Lozano, Prometheus 1.1 is a Mac OS X-like theme for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Unity Desktop (it might work on newer versions of Ubuntu).

The latest release, 1.1, comes with a fixed scale (slider) widget color, more widget fixes, and support for NEMO file manager.

The theme is provided in the source archive and you will have to install it manually. Just follow the instructions in our handy tutorial and you should be just fine (ignore the 11.10 mention in the title, it works for later versions as well).

Download Prometheus 1.1 theme from gnome-look.org.
