BlackBerry smartphone owners interested in making their devices look radically different have now the possibility to do so via a simple solution available for them, namely the XDroid theme from WJD Designs.

What the new solution is all about includes the possibility to make the Blackberry device seem like a DROID X, minus the casing, of course.

“Welcome to XDroid, not your average Android based theme. This theme is inspired by Motorola's Android device named 'Droid X'... This was made to reflect everything from the icons to your unread messages to the function of the on screen widgets,” the company notes on its website.

The theme has been developed so as to make the home screen look just as the screen on the Android-based device, and includes the Droid X style bottom launch dock.

“Along with the widgets are the custom user defined Icon spaces with the text under them to give that Android feel. We also have the Droid X style bottom launch dock which allows the user get to the dial pad / contacts / and app screen with a quick tap,” the company announced.

Some of the main features of the solution include:

- NEW Show/Hide Calendar & Messages Widgets - NEW text under homescreen Icons - 4 Icon User Defined - 3 Icon Droid X Style Launcher - Hidden Today thanks to custom widgets - Colors that are easy on the eyes - Icons ripped from Open Source Android structure - Quick in PERFORMANCE - Another WJD Designs Original

The application is available for RIM smartphones running under BlackBerry OS 5.0 or higher, it seems, including the BlackBerry Storm, the Bold 9700, 9650, 9000, Tour 9630 and Pearl 3G.

The new software solution is available for download from the developer's website here. Those interested in getting it would have to pay $3.99 to purchase it. The solution can be downloaded only straight on the BlackBerry smartphones, it seems.

A few more details on what the new theme is all about can be found in the video below (via CrackBerry).
