Even though it's been developed to fulfill only some basic protection measures, Touch Hider is a handy tool for those that want to hide their files from unwanted intrusion. Designed by Kenvast Software, the application is only compatible with smartphones running the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system.

Furthermore, even on some of the compatible devices such as Nokia N97, N97 mini and C6, the application doesn't work too well, as the files with hidden attribute will still show because of the special mechanism for showing hidden files that has been included into the above mentioned smartphones. Also, in case there's a third-party application installed, which has the ability to show hidden files, these will show when this app is used.

Touch Hider enables users to hide files they don't want other peoples to see. After installing the application, you will be able to tap on any file found into the Nokia integrated file manager, Media Gallery and Nokia Photo Browser applications, and give them hidden attribute. It seems that every time you hide or unhide a file, the application builds a Hider index where it records every change. The index also records all the hidden files indexes, so you can view the Hider index easily and make all the operations you want faster (hide/unhide, open, or switch to the original file).

Other important features of Touch Hider include: Fast switch between the Hider Index and the folder of the original file; Fast accessing file: open file, remove file, browse file; Protect hidden files index list by password; Support physical keyboard operation for all application functions by shortcut; Context Sensitive help; Support landscape and portrait screen mode. Touch Hider can be used for free at its full capabilities for a limited period until the trial expires. After that, you will have to register the application by buying the software for $11.99.
