Animated film “Free Birds” aims to take turkeys off Thanksgiving Day menu

Those who plan on gulping down roast turkey this coming Thanksgiving Day should probably not watch "Free Birds," an animated film set to be released just in time for this holiday.

Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson both star in this animation, Ecorazzi says.

The actors have agreed to voice two turkeys that travel back in time all the way to the Pilgrim era and try to take their species off the Thanksgiving Day menu.

And if this doesn't sound wacky enough to you, keep reading. It gets even better.

The turkey voiced by Owen Wilson is named Reggie, and he is one of those few lucky birds that got pardoned by the President and didn't end up on a plate, wearing nothing but gravy sauce.

Jake, the bird voiced by Woody Harrelson is, and you might want to sit down for this one, the only member of the Turkey Liberation Front. Pretty cool, right?

It probably won't be long until a trailer for this animated film hits the public eye, so stick around for more info.

By the way, "Free Birds" boils down to "meat is murder," so I suppose PETA will simply love it.
