YouTube is one of the most popular video-sharing services on the Internet, allowing users to upload, share and comment movies with other members of the community. Because it allows all the registered members to publish their videos, Google received several complaints, the company being accused for uploading content without authorization. A new case was reported in Turkey where the authorities decided to ban the service after YouTube published a video that sustained Turkish people are homosexuals. Although the company quickly removed the movies, a Turkish court banned the service using one of the largest Internet service providers in the country.

Turk Telekom blocked the access to the video service, sustaining that YouTube might be accessible through other Internet service providers. When a user tries to connect to the video service, he receives the message ""Access to this site has been blocked by a court decision!". In the bottom of the page it is mentioned that Access to YouTube's site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2007/384 dated 06.03.2007 of Istanbul First Criminal Peace Court."

Paul Doany, head of Turk Telekom, Turkey's largest telecommunications provider, said his company had immediately begun enforcing the ban. "We are not in the position of saying that what YouTube did was an insult, that it was right or wrong," Doany told the state-run Anatolia news agency. "A court decision was proposed to us, and we are doing what that court decision says." Doany said Turk Telekom would allow access to the popular video sharing site again if the court decision were rescinded. Access from Turkey might be possible through other service providers, he said," BusinessWeek reported.

This is not the first time when YouTube is blocked after illegal content is published on its webpage. Some time ago, YouTube Brazil was banned by a Brazilian court after the product uploaded multiple videos with Daniela Cicarelli, Ronaldo's ex-wife.
