Bumble Bee and Chicken of the Sea tuna cans are being pulled off the market in large quantities. USA Today informs that the current recall applies to some 3 million 5-ounce (141-g) cans.

The cans have been improperly sealed, which can lead to the fish going bad and ultimately causing health issues among consumers.

Bumble Bee has the most cans being recalled, with 2.4 million, or 51,000 cases, Senior Vice President Steve Mavity says.

659,784 Chicken of the Sea products canned at the Bumble Bee California plant will also be thrown out. Fortunately, no medical issues caused by consuming the fish have been reported.

The measure is brought on by an "issue on a manufacturing line, which has been corrected," Bumble Bee reps say.

"We're voluntarily recalling products to ensure the highest margin of safety and quality," Mavity adds.
