Tumblr is undoubtedly on an ascending trend, and since this means it gets more and more publicity, the micro-blogging platform also caught the attention of spammers. Officials with the company acknowledge the issue and insist they are working on fixing it.

If one is to explore the official Tumblr blog, there is nothing worthy of concern going on with the platform, since no spam-related post has been published.

However, lately more and more users have been complaining about the increasing activity of spammers on their blogs, without Tumblr releasing any official explanation.

The closest thing to an official statement was recently posted on a Tumblr blog called Fresh Air where a certain Thomas from customer service publicly admits that the problem exists and that they are working on finding a solution.

“Please know that we’re aware of a recent increase in blogs with odd URLs that are following large numbers of users. We’re doing everything we can to quickly suspend these blogs and to keep more of them from being created,” reads the aforementioned blog entry.

While this might not seem like much, to Tumblr users it might come as a relief to know that someone is working on restoring the order and cleaning all the spam.

Moreover, the said post has been shared on numerous other blogs, with member being eager to notify the others that Tumblr is offering a helping hand.

On the other hand, Tumblr’s Thomas from customer support does not provide a deadline for solving the spam problem, so numerous other blogs might end up being affected.

“We are sorry that this issue has occurred and are doing everything that we can to address it quickly.”

In the end, regardless of the pacifying tone of message, blog owners will continue complaining using any means they have at hand, until this issue gets fixed and everything run smoothly at Tumblr.
