14 DAY TRIAL // Social blogging platform Tumblr is out with a major new update for iOS customers, adding the ability to @mention someone just like on Twitter, complete with links to the bloggers in question.
A tool for posting anything from photos and videos to quotes and chats, Tumblr is gaining more and more adopters by the second. No wonder, then, that the developers decided to make it easier for folks to mingle around.
In the latest update for iOS customers, Tumblr (3.5.3) offers User Mentions. The developer explains:
“Just type @ and a username when you’re writing a post. We’ll create a link to their blog and let that person know that you mentioned them. They will be thrilled by this.”
You’ll need iOS 7.0 to use the feature, so if you haven’t made the jump yet, now’s the perfect time to do so. Supported languages include: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.
