The shape is odd for work peripherals, but the company specifically mentioned the scenario

Headphones are mostly universally compatible with PCs and mobile devices, although some phones might not properly handle certain headsets, causing stutters and static issues. There are still very distinct guidelines for making a “gaming” instead of an office headset, though.

Tt eSports followed them but still felt compelled to mention that, no matter how good for games they might be, the newest headphones that left its design lab are just as good for business use too.

Indeed, the professional eSports gaming peripheral maker specifically described the new Verto headset as “sophisticated enough for in-office use.”

All told, the Verto has to be the most oddly shaped office headset ever made. Not that there are all that many headsets with trapezoidal ear cups on the gaming front, but still.

The Verto has a stainless steel outer headband, as well as an elastic inner band that should maintain comfort as well as a secure grip on your head.

Other headsets clamp down too hard, causing ear or head aches over time, while others don't clamp down hard enough, or have very weak inner bands that are all but useless. Fortunately, Verto has avoided those pitfalls.

Not that Tt eSports would have lived up to its reputation if it allowed something like that to happen. Especially when it is trying to get people sold on the new geometric design.

On that note, the earpads are made of protein leather, which is both breathable while feeling comfortable and soft against the skin. That's what Tt eSports promises at least. So you don't need to worry about sweat gathering too much.

As for the audio quality, Tt eSports did not go into too many details in its announcement, saying only that the headset has an overall “balanced sound” and a “tinge of bass emphasis.” Fortunately, there is a more detailed product page on the official website, so we do have some numbers to share.

Here are the most important ones: 10Hz ~ 22 KHz frequency response, sensitivity of 98 DB at 1 KHz, a microphone frequency of 300Hz ~ 10 KHz, 32Ω (ohm) impedance (2.2k ohm impedance for the omni-directional microphone), and a cable length of 3 meters (10 feet), with 3.5 mm jack (gold-plated).

Tt eSports will sell the Verto gaming headset for $79.99 / €58.69 starting this month (July 2014) in Taiwan and the US, with the rest of the world following soon after, probably by the end of August.
