The name of the new keyboard is Poseidon Z Illuminated, although it doesn't exactly fit the look and feel of the device.
Sure, the LED backlight is blue and all, but the keyboard doesn't really have any special shape reminiscent of water or ocean gods.
Actually, the keyboard lacks dedicated multimedia keys as well (the Function keys play that role), and the small indicator panel above the number pad uses red instead of blue.
We could even go so far as to say that the physical frame of the newcomer is quite minimalistic.
Fortunately, what the product lacks in aesthetic sophistication, it makes up in technological assets, not the least of which is the 6-8 key N-Key Rollover support.
N-Key Rollover allows you to press multiple keys at once without the system choking on it. Nowadays, most basic keyboards can handle two, three or four keys at once, but there are some that let you press dozens, or nearly all keys at the same time.
8 keys is more than enough because it's unlikely that you'll ever need to use all ten of your fingers to perform some sort of combo. And even if you did, it wouldn't need for the 10 buttons to be pressed at once.
Moving on, the Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated keyboard has mechanical key switches that last for 50 million strokes each.
Finally, the price is actually pretty low for gaming-centric, mechanical keyboards. That was the whole point actually: to make an affordable gaming peripheral featuring mechanical keys instead of using the usual, rubber membrane. The tag of the Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z Illuminated is $79.90 / €59, or will be once sales begin, later this month in the US and later everywhere else.
