14 DAY TRIAL // Trustwave has acquired Application Security, Inc., a New York-based company that provides data security solutions. Trustwave is confident that it can leverage Application Security’s automated databases security scanning technologies to enhance its own services.
Application Security’s products, DbProtect and AppDetectivePRO, will continue to be developed and supported by Trustwave. The solutions will be integrated into the company’s information security, threat intelligence and compliance management offerings portfolio.
Application Security has been helping both government agencies and businesses in protecting their databases and big data stores by identifying configuration issues and vulnerabilities that could lead to data breaches and DOS attacks.
“By joining forces with Application Security, Trustwave can help customers strengthen security across their environment--from the network, applications, Web, and down to the data itself--so they can more effectively fight cybercrime, protect data and reduce security risks,” commented Trustwave Chairman and CEO Robert J. McCullen.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
