Only days after announcing that she wanted to take over the British pop charts with a new single, Katie Price is already starting to come to terms with the idea that a music career is not happening for her. Moreover, her latest book, “Paradise,” also seems to be in serious trouble, with publishers already slashing prices for it almost by half, presumably in a bid to increase its odds of becoming a hit, the Daily Mail says.

It could very well be that the industry has grown tired of the glamour model and her repeated attempts at keeping herself in the spotlight, the publication seems to say. Her latest single, “Free to Love Again,” was received with nothing but ridicule, especially when it failed even to break into the first 40 positions of the British singles charts, despite heavy promotion on all channels. Because of this, Price is now thinking of putting her music career on hold for a while to focus on other projects, word in the British media has it.

“Katie is now said to have decided to pull the plug on her music career, just 42 days after announcing her intention to take on the charts. A source told the Sun: ‘Katie wants to concentrate on what she does best 100 per cent. She knows what she’s good at whether it’s writing books, modeling or appearing on her own reality show but the pop career isn’t for her’,” the Mail writes, citing a source who claims to be very familiar with the situation. However, things may not be looking good for her latest book either.

“Things aren’t going too well for Katie Price. Just days after cancelling a gig at London’s G-A-Y nightclub following the disappointing sales of debut single Free To Love Again, Katie’s new novel Paradise has already been heavily discounted. Within hours of the tome’s release yesterday, the £14.99 cover price had been slashed by more than half by many online retailers. While Amazon.co.uk had reduced the book to £6.44, Play.co.uk and Waterstones.co.uk were selling it for £6.99 and WHSmith.co.uk are advertising it for £7.49,” the same publication writes.

Contacted for comment on rumors that “Paradise” is already in trouble, publisher Random House said that it’s not uncommon for retailers to promote a freshly-released book by applying massive discounts. After all, Price’s books have sold so far a massive £3.5 million, so it’s not like people are suddenly going to stop buying her work, the publisher explains for the same outlet.
