Back then nobody took him seriously, which is why he might have over-compensated

A new Tropico 5 trailer from Kalypso Media reveals that El Presidente was once a mighty pirate. Well, at least a pirate that people heard of. Somewhat.

The second trailer to the highly anticipated city building game Tropico 5 shows an El Presidente who borrows a bit of the comedic demeanor of Pirates of the Caribbean star pirate Jack Sparrow, a man who uses subterfuge and cunning as his most deadly weapons.

As such, the trailer shows how El Presidente first set foot on the remote island, showing his first steps toward power and glory, back in colonial times.

The upcoming simulation game will have players once again returning to the remote tropical paradise island, leading the glorious nation of Tropico from the early colonial period to beyond the 21st century, in an all-new expanded dynasty mode where players will be able to pass on their legacy to their descendants.

Tropico 5 will be the first game in the series where players will be able to enjoy multiplayer supporting up to four people at the same time, and either compete for the limited resources and sympathy of their neighbors or cooperate for mutual advancement.

El Presidente is set on conquering the world sometime this summer, coming out on the PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 platforms.
