Sony has announced during its E3 press conference that the PlayStation 3 version of the upcoming
Mafia II would be coming packed with a free downloadable content called “Jimmy's Vendetta”. Now the Trophy descriptions for the DLC have appeared and it seems to be a sort of shooting gallery set somewhere in the open world of Mafia II that can be played more than once in order to get more kills and more points.
The Bronze Trophies are:
First Step - Complete your first mission in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
Faster than Light - Achieve a 10x point multiplier in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
Explorer - Drive a total of 1,000 miles in vehicles in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
Armament King - Kill your enemies in 'Jimmy's Vendetta' with every weapon available in the game.
Firebug - Destroy 100 vehicles in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
Sharpshooter - Kill 100 enemies by headshots in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
Carnapper - Finish all Car Dealer missions in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
Massacre - Kill 1,000 enemies in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
And then there are 2 Silver Trophies:
Revenged - Finish 'Jimmy's Vendetta' on any difficulty level.
Millionaire - Earn 1,000,000 points in 'Jimmy's Vendetta'.
By the look of it Jimmy's Vendetta is something long the lines of Horde Mode, with a lot of enemies that need to be killed between the player and his objective. It's pretty hard to imagine how long it could take to kill 1,000 characters or how, in the absence of some significant multipliers, 1 million points can be obtained in just one piece of content.
Mafia II is an open world game set just after World War II. The developers at 2K Czech are saying that the city will be wide open for players to explore, with care taken to make everything a gamer sees as close to historical reality as possible. The game is set to launch for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC on August 24 in North America and three days later in Europe.
