Modern Warfare, obsolete techniques

Everybody got pretty excited when hearing that Sony was going to bring the answer to Microsoft's achievements. However, in order for them to work flawlessly, there is one more thing that should be done: to convince game developers to take a few days off and work on a code to implement them in their titles. As you can imagine, some of the biggest developers will have to say "pass" because of their really tight schedule. This is the case of Call of Duty 4 developer, Infinity Ward.

Community manager Robert Bowling posted on the official forums of the company that, even though they completely love the new features introduced by Sony (both trophies and rumble support for Dualshock 3 controllers) and would like to have them in Call of Duty 4, it's impossible since "they simply came too late". I'm sure this is what we could call bad news for PlayStation 3 owners...

Here is what Bowling wrote, "At this time, we have no plans to patch in Trophy support for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the PS3. Much like DualShock rumble addition to the PS3, the support for these new features have come much to late for us to add it to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare due to our current production schedule. We would have loved to have these in the game at launch if the support was available, or shortly after".

This kind of means that modern warfare will not be exactly that modern, following Sony's new additions, but we're sure that will not stop COD4 from still being one of the most played games online. Hopefully, though, this will be enough for console manufacturers to understand that great features should be implemented as soon as possible. Yes, we're talking about Mii-like avatars, too.
