Let gravity do the work!

Waiting for the iPhone SDK, are we? Well, after watching this video, you'll probably email Jobs threatening to commit suicide if he doesn't roll it out faster. Developer Steve D. of Demiforce has come up with this Bejeweled-like puzzle game for the iPhone which not only uses its touchscreen capabilities but its accelerometer as well. Have a look, you'll see what I mean.

First of all, the object of the game is of course matching three or more triangles of the same color to accumulate points and advance through. Trism uses the iPhone's touchscreen to move the on-screen triangles in different directions. The real twist, however, is the ability to let gravity put triangles in their place by tilting the iPhone, "leading to some major strategic possibilities," according to gamesetwatch.com, who has also scored an interview with the small developer.

Just like Steve puts it, there's not one device out there that incorporates both touchscreen and tilting features which, obviously are the only two control methods of Trism. The game is bound to get some attention from iPhone users if not Apple themselves as well.

And yes, you guessed it, a jailbroken iPhone is required to run the app, but if Steve is taken aboard for the SDK, rest assured, you'll be able to play it as soon as Apple gives it a go. If not, you'll probably be able to play it even sooner, but again, only if you jailbreak your device which, needless to say, Softpedia doesn't condone.

"From a business angle I'm looking to get this thing noticed by Apple so that I can get it out to the masses on iTunes. They haven't released information on how little guys like me are going to be able to make that happen, so I decided to leverage the media to get noticed. Being a little guy, I'm aware some big company may come along and say 'hey, that's a great game, let's take it and make it our own' so I'm really looking to move this thing as fast as possible." Steve told GameSetWatch.

Asked whether he has more ideas that involve the tilting control scheme, Steve laughed replying :"what do you think?" The gameplay video is right below. Check it out!
