Trine 2 has received some brand new details, including the confirmation of a special Collector's Edition of the game that will be released in Europe, as well as some new screenshots that showcase its gameplay.

Trine impressed quite a lot of role playing game fans back in 2009 when it was released by Fronzebyte for all sorts of platforms, including the PC, Mac OS X, Linux or even the PlayStation 3, allowing players to control either a knight, a thief, or a wizard and engage in all sorts of challenging puzzles and adventures.

Now, Trine 2 is getting ready to debut in December this year for the PC and Mac, both through digital distribution outlets as well as in retail stores.

In order to attract serious fans of the original, the team at Frozenbyte has announced that a Collector's Edition of Trine 2 will be released in Europe, for both platforms, including things like: "the full game, its majestic soundtrack, a gorgeous artbook commented by the developers from Frozenbyte, and also the first Trine game."

The Trine 2 Collector's Edition will sell for €19.99 (£14.99 in UK), making it a great deal. No word yet on U.S. availability, however, so stay tuned for more details soon enough. Until then, check out the four new screenshots of Trine 2 below.
