Trine 2, an puzzle adventure developed by the Finnish studio Frozenbyte, will be ported to Linux and officially launched sometime during 2012.

Frozenbyte has stated in a post on Twitter that “Trine2 will be released for PC and Mac on December 7th and the console versions on the 21st of December. Linux to follow in 2012”.

The first Trine game was launched for Linux in 2011, after a period of uncertainty. If we take our cue from what happed with the first game, Trine 2 will most likely be ready for Linux gamers earliest in the summer of 2012.

Trine 2 is a sidescrolling game of action, puzzles and platforming. You play as one of the Three Heroes who make their way through dangers untold, in a fantastical fairytale world.

Physics-based puzzles with fire, water, gravity and magic are the building blocks of an amazing atmosphere.
