Sleeping Dogs' follow-up title, Triad Wars, got its first trailer, showing a bit of gameplay from the upcoming PC game and explaining what it's all about.

The game is described as "the flip side of Sleeping Dogs" by developer United Front Games, an open-world action-adventure video game where you play the role of an enforcer that rises up the ranks of the criminal underground, ultimately becoming a kingpin of the Hong Kong Triad underworld.

If Sleeping Dogs was made for those who love being a cop and uprooting crime, then Triad Wars was created to appeal to those who fantasize about becoming criminal masterminds.

The open-world game features a lot of combat, just like its predecessor Sleeping Dogs, and the developers are aiming to offer each player a different experience. Gamers will have to formulate their strategy and claim their share of the city through extortion, hacking and money laundering.

United Front Games has just opened registrations for the Triad Wars closed beta, and you can sign up for free on the game's website.

Many gamers loved Sleeping Dogs for the characters and the story, meaning rich single-player experience, and will no doubt be put off by the free-to-play online multiplayer design, which usually turns out pretty generic and grindy.

The game is slated for an early 2015 release on PC.
