According to the latest news on the web, Palm's Treo Pro has made it to Sprint's site today, although the handset was pulled out afterwards. The listing showed a rather attractive price, $349, after some $100 mail-in rebate and other $200 instant savings. Those willing to acquire the device were supposed to add an Everything plan, Data Premier add-on or PRO Pack add-on to benefit from the rebate.

The Treo Pro is expected to be launched by Sprint on January 25th, with a 2.4-inch touchscreen display that would provide a 320 x 320 pixel resolution, complemented by a full QWERTY keyboard. In addition, the handset will also sport a 2-megapixel camera, microSD expansion, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR radio, Infrared port, WiFi and GPS capabilities, as well as volume keys and programmable buttons on the left side.

The attractive part about the GPS navigation on Treo Pro is that the phone supports both Assisted and Autonomous options, which gives it functionality even when in an area that is not covered by Sprint's network. This can be seen as a rather great improvement compared to the Treo 800w, which is already available on Sprint.

As some recently-leaked specifications on the Treo Pro showed, the handset comes along with a 528mhz Qualcomm MSM-7501a processor, as well as with 96mb RAM and 512mb ROM. This suggests the fact that the maker has increased the available memory storage for programs to almost 336MB, which would be about double the expected size.

The phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and is reported to also include a new version of Internet Explorer, namely the IE6. The new browser seems to come with support for Flash Lite, another great feature that Treo Pro will bring along. Other specs include Sprint's Java platform, Titan, which should prove a good addition compared to the Windows JVM.
