Defy the cold outside with a designer-hot coat

Winter season usually brings a bunch of glamorous surprises, but none of them as desirable and trendy as coats are. This winter, you can go for extremes in every single aspect of your outfit and you can start with the colors and the cuts, for instance. Go back in history with a bold tailoring, stage-like elements of exaggeration, high collars, unusual shapes, fabrics in excess, folded in the most imaginative way one could dream of – this winter makes it all possible.

Designers seem unable to make up their minds on whether this is a white season or not. When dealing with the “coat issue,” the problem is a bit more complicated. However, a fashionista can wear snow-white or bright cream frocks, or choose more vivid colors, such as all sorts of berry shades: reds, aubergine, pinks, magenta, and so on. No fashion rule states that coats should only be warm and comfy.

The cuts for which you should keep your eyes peeled are the stylish cocoon coats, one of last year's reminiscences, even though they look a lot different this season, the A-line coats, and the military coats. Designers also come with some nice leather and fur coats, to keep us warm in high style during every dull day of the season. Moreover, if this is not too much for you, you can keep on upping the trendiness factor by going for fur collars, hemlines, cuffs, and hoods.

Cocoon and A-line coats are still in trends, as their cut flatters almost every body shape. They're both extremely feminine, but especially the latter, which, when matched with a cute skirt, can become a genuine fashion statement. Designers have also brought a little more edge to them, so the rich collars and the bulky sleeves cannot be overlooked no matter what.

If winter temperatures leave you with plenty of options, you can even wear some gorgeous coat in satin. If it has embroideries on it, it’s even better, as long as you make sure they're the same color as the coat.
