InterCloud Security Service is designed to detect botnet related activity, while enabling the quarantine and clean options on individual machines. According to Trend Micro, the InterCloud Security
Service will be showcased at the DEMOfall 2006 in San Diego.

"I am pleased to have Trend Micro showcase its InterCloud Security Service at DEMOfall '06," stated Chris Shipley, DEMO executive producer. "DEMO's focus is on the most elite, highly-innovative, industry-leading products -- the products that others will follow -- and I am confident that Trend Micro has delivered that with this new service."

"Up to this point, ISPs have been largely at the mercy of botnet activity robbing them of network resources and threatening the welfare of consumers and businesses daily," said Dave Rand, chief technology officer of Internet Content Security, Trend Micro. "With the release of this service and the bot- expert resources devoted to it, Trend Micro offers service providers and large institutions the first botnet mitigation solution from a trusted name in security."

Trend Micro has revealed via a press release that its channel partners will be delivering the service scheduled to be available to the general public in the fourth quarter of 2006. The company has failed to provide additional details or pricing schemes. Trend Micro has announced that the service is based on the Behavioral Analysis Security Engine (BASE), a behavioral evaluation technology.
