The tablet can be turned into the best World Cup companion

To survive the harsh competition in today’s tablet market, a lot of slate manufacturers have to think of ways to impress consumers by offering atypical features.

Take a look at the next product. The TrekStor SurfTab xintron i 10.1 is just the thing you’ll need to follow the upcoming soccer World Cup in Brazil.

As TabTech notes, unlike other products on the market, the tablet arrives with a DVB-T Stick included in the bundle, which will turn the slate into the mobile TV. The stick can be used with other smartphones and tablets, too.

But don’t be fooled, the machine remains a budget tablet arriving with a 10.1-inch IPS display and handling the standard 1280 x 800 pixel resolution (150ppi).

The tablet draws power from an Intel Atom Z2580 dual-core processor (clocked at least 2GHz per core) fitted with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card).

Further highlights of the slate include two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP up in front), micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, but there’s no GPS. The battery is quite powerful with a capacity of 6,800 mAh, so users should be able to use the slate for a long period of time.

The tablet’s two speakers live in the front and for a mobile TV Tablet that’s a pretty important feat. The slate runs the outdated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version, and the Android 4.4. KitKat is pretty unlikely to arrive. The slate sells for €199 / $273, which is a little too much as far as I’m concerned.
