A photo of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wearing a hoodie similar to the one worn by Trayvon Martin on the night he was shot has swept the web.

However, King's niece, Alveda King says that he would never have worn a hoodie or sagging pants.

According to the Inquisitr, King, a former Georgia representative, made the comments on the radio on Tuesday.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would very likely not wear a hoodie.

“I can assure you he would not wear sagging pants. I don’t even think I’ve ever even seen his sons with sagging pants,” she stresses.

As I reported, the photo, posted by former presidential advisor Van Jones on Twitter, is meant to represent the hoodie as a symbol of racial oppression.
