OpenTTD 1.4.1, an open source simulation game based on the popular Microprose title Transport Tycoon written by Chris Sawyer, has been officially released.

Transport Tycoon is a very old game that was originally launched back in 1995, but it made such a huge impact on the gaming community that, even almost 20 years later, it still has a powerful fan base.

According to the changelog, the save and load issues on big endian machines have been fixed, multiheaded trains in station refits are now working properly, the script can now be changed in-game by double clicking, the transfer stations now also have a cargo rating, the AI now resets certain network state information upon the creation of their company, and the client of the non-dedicated server has been correctly put into the first company.

Also, demand calculation based on tiles has been removed, pkg-config is now being used for libpng as well, better distance metric is now used for the link graph, the OpenBSD compilation has been fixed, the improper usage of strecpy has been corrected, and text shadow is now drawn for ellipses.
