Some would say beauty is priceless. For Nicole Sanders, born Jason Torres, it came at a very high price: since 18, when he started his amazing transformation into a real-life Barbie doll, he spent an estimated £200,000 ($313,740 or €234,431) on plastic surgery.

Today, Jason is known as Nicole, a well known presence on the underground scene in New York City, a dancer and a model. She might have spent a fortune on her looks, but she's now convinced she looks like like Barbie.

In a brand new interview with the Daily Mail, Nicole explains how she first realized she wasn't supposed to have been born a man.

By the age of 16, she'd already attempted suicide once. A short while afterwards, she left her home in New Jersey and moved to NYC in a bid to find others who could understand her better than her family and her peers.

She always knew she wanted to look like Barbie, she says.

“Growing up I was always playing with Barbie dolls and I just loved the way she looked. I also admired women like Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra and I knew deep down that I wanted to be like them,” Nicole tells the British tab.

“It's hard to say exactly how much I have spent on surgery but it's definitely in the region of £200,000. I have had pretty much everything done except liposuction – I've always been naturally skinny. I didn't want to be natural – I wanted to be glamorous and beautiful, just like Barbie,” she adds.

Nicole knows she spent a ridiculous amount of money on plastic surgery, but she's convinced it was all well worth it. Plus, she says, she had several rich and generous boyfriends to pay for them.

So far, she's had gender reassignment surgery, 4 nose jobs, 5 breast interventions, brow lift, jaw surgery, cheek implants, chin and calf implants, fillers in the lips, silicone injections to the backside, thighs and hips, and Botox.

A while ago, she went to infamous doctor Brad Jacobs, who botched her breasts and nose. She's had reconstructive surgery to repair the damage and realized it was time to call it a day.

“I think it was the wake-up call that I needed. I haven't had anything done since the reconstructions,” she says.

“In a way, I'm glad I came to my senses or I wonder whether I would ever have stopped. I was completely addicted to surgery so God only knows what I might have ended up looking like,” Nicole further says.
