In keeping with the spirit of diminutive storage modules, the new USB flash drives from Transcend come as an addition to the company's line of JetFlash USB flash drives. The products have a streamlined, contoured design and work on the USB 2.0 interface. The modules measure 60.9 x 19.3 x 8.5 mm, which makes them compact and easy to carry without increasing the chance of permanently misplacing them. The drives are compatible with Windows 7 and are, naturally, designed for easy plug and play.

The modules are, like all mainstream drives, USB-powered and, in addition, come with an LED indicator, which shows the status of the data transfer. As for read and write capabilities, the respective drives have a read speed of 32 MB/s, while the individual writing speeds can reach 10MB/s for the 4GB model, 12MB/s for the 8GB and 18MB/s for the 16GB and 32GB versions.

Naturally, the speed may vary according to host hardware, software and usage, but all models have the JetFlash Elite data management tool that improves reliability. The drives only weigh 8.5 grams and, besides supporting Microsoft Windows 2000/ME/XP/VISTA/7, also work on Mac OS 9.0 or later and are compatible with Linux Kernel 2.4.2 or later.

The USB flash drives supposedly draw their design from aerodynamic automobiles, hence the gloss-black finish and translucent color-band that lights up when they are accessed. The products are already on sale and have differing prices according to their respective storage capacities. The 4GB JetFlash 600 has a price of 11.38 Euro, the 8GB version costs 18.99, the 16GB has a tag of 34.99 and, finally, the most expensive of the lot is the JetFlash 600 32GB, with a price of no less than 99.90 Euro.

All three devices come with lifetime warranty and full information, along with downloads and extras, which may be found on the Transcend official site.
