It appears that Transcend is not content with just expanding its portfolio of solid state drives, the company having also prepared several new hard disk drives of the portable variety.

Some might have thought that Transcend's series of StoreJet portable hard disk drives would go a while without any new addition.

Turns out that whoever assumed that was wrong because the outfit did, in fact, expand the series, by adding some members with a higher capacity than those of their peers, 750 GB to be exact.

To be more specific, the maker of storage solutions added the StoreJet 25D2, 25M2, 25D3 and 25M3 HDDs.

The 25D2 and 25D3 utilize an advanced internal hard drive suspension system, which gives them a higher shock resistance than what most regular portable HDDs have.

These two boast a high gloss finish but they are different from each other in how the former is equipped with an USB 2.0 port whereas the latter utilizes an USB 3.0 connector.

“The passport-sized StoreJet 25D2 is sleek and stylish with a mirror-like high gloss outer finish, yet it is also remarkably tough and rugged,” states the official press release.

The 25M2 and 25M3 are more durable, being equipped with not just an internal drive suspension damper, but also a reinforced hard casing.

What's more, they boast silicone outer shells, meant to absorb vibrations, and, like their siblings, feature the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectivity standard, respectively.

For those that need a reminder, USB 3.0 has a maximum theoretical transfer speed that is ten times faster than that of USB 2.0 (in this case it reaches 90 MB/s).

“Known as one of Transcend’s best selling products, the StoreJet 25M2 sports a sophisticated three-stage shock protection system,” the company mentioned.

“The StoreJet 25M2 also meets rigorous U.S. military drop-test standards, making it one of the most robust portable hard drives available.”
