Transcend Launches Its 160GB External Storage Solution

Transcend announced the launch of its new external storage device that comes packed in a small form factor for increased portability and ease of use. This new product from Transcend is available now under the commercial name of StoreJet and it combines a stylishly designed, polished aluminum case with the performance centered 2.5 inch notebook Serial ATA hard disk drive in order to grant users low access times to their data.

As the new Transcend product is an external storage device, the connectivity is very important and it uses the high speed USB 2.0 interface in order to link up with a host computer system, while providing data transferring speeds of 480Mb per second. At the same time the Transcend StoreJet is able to maintain full compatibility with older computer systems as it offers backward support for the USB 1.1 protocol too.

Inside the stylish Transcend designed and produced casing there is a performance centered 2.5 inch hard disk drive that uses the fast Serial ATA interface in order to reach data transferring speeds of over 1.5Gb per second in the case of point to point data connections. The new Transcend external storage system is combining advanced power saving features and fast data access speeds thanks to the latest generation hard disk drive.

In order to help users back up their important files, the Transcend StoreJet comes equipped with an ''OneTouch Auto-Backup'' button, while coming bundled with a software application that offers intelligent backup scheduling, security and power saving functions. On the general appearance side, the new Transcend product is available in several pleasant colors including silver, titanium and blue. These colors are associated each for a storage capacity and we have silver drives with 80GB storage space, titanium for 120GB units and finally blue external storage devices that come with a 160GB hard disk drive.

Transcend also has a line of products that comes in the form of an empty external enclosure that comes without an integrated hard disk drive and those offerings are available in silver, blue or red. These enclosures are compatible with all types of Serial ATA 2.5 inch hard disk drives, so finding a suitable drive is not going to be too hard.

On the operating system side, the Transcend StoreJet is 100 percent compatible with all systems that are offering support for USB devices, like Windows 2000, XP and Vista, Mac OS 9.0, OS X and Linux Kernel 2.4, or later. The new line of Transcend products is now readily available and all these products are coming with a limited two years warranty.
