The last piece of news about the aXeRam DDR3 memory came in early April and had Transcend proudly showing off the XMP certification of its DDR3-2000 memory kits. Since then, the company has been somewhat more active on the storage front, where it even released a USB 3.0 HDD known as StoreJet 25D3. Now that a new month has begun, however, and seeing how Transcend intends to see strong revenues this quarter, the memory and storage-solution manufacturer has once again turned its gaze towards the field of overclocking DDR3.

The company has launched a dual-channel memory kit and a triple-channel DDR3 one that aim to merge both overclocking potential as well as power efficiency. Specifically, there is the 4GB aXeRam DDR3-1600 dual-channel kit and the 6GB-2000 triple-channel kit, both of which operate on a voltage of 1.6V. All modules are built with high-quality, JEDEC-compliant DDR3 128Mx8 FBGA chips, for high stability and signal integrity at high clocks. The kits themselves have not been priced, but they come with a lifetime warranty.

The 4GB kit is composed of two DD3 1,600MHz modules with timings of 8-8-8-24 at 1.6V, which have high-quality heatspreaders and are certified for use on Intel P55 motherboards, such as Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P, MSI P55-GD85, ASUS P7P55D PREMIUM and ASUS P7P55D DELUXE. Basically, the two modules are about 15% more powerful than standard reference models, even while they provide “a great balance between performance and price.”

The 6GB DDR3-2000 triple-channel kit is less concerned with price accessibility. Instead, it is meant for high-end Intel X58 motherboards such as Gigabyte’s GA-X58A-UD3R and the ASUS P6X58D PREMIUM. The three 2GB modules operate on the same voltage of 1.6V, have timings of 9-9-9-24 and offer a memory bandwidth of 48GB/s, 35% better than what standard 1,333MHz kits can achieve. As for cooling, Transcend implemented aluminum heatsinks with cooling fins, ensuring that gamers and enthusiasts can get the most out of their purchase.
