Transcend Launches 2,000MHz DDR3 Memory Modules

The Intel Core i5 is the first processor allowing the P55 core-logic to handle all input/output functions. The chip provides this functionality through integration of both a two-channel DDR3 memory controller and a PCI Express 2.0 graphics port. This functionality is added to the high overclocking potential of the CPU, features that have already prompted hardware makers to release products meant to support these capabilities. Transcend has released its new ultra high-end DDR3 memory kit, the aXeRam, which is meant to allow owners of this Nehalem-based chip to make full use of its overclocking potential.

The memory kit has a full capacity of 4GB and is made up of two identical DDR3 memory modules at 2GB each. Set to work with not only Core i5 but also Core i7 platforms, the dual-channel memory kit boasts an impressive bandwidth of 32GB/s and runs at a frequency of 2,000MHz. In addition, the modules all use 128Mx8 DDR3 FBGA high-quality chips, which increase their stability and signal integrity, even at high clock speeds. This feature enables the aXeRam to propel the performance of LGA 1156 systems to new heights.

In addition to their 2,000 MHz clock frequencies and the high bandwidth, the modules enable an excellent overclocking also thanks to their low latencies, specifically 9-9-9-24. The memory units are 240Pin Long-DIMM-type modules and they make use of a robust eight-layer PCB, fully compliant with the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) standards. Their own temperatures are kept in check thanks to an aluminum heatsink, which has a high thermal efficiency and disperses heat through a number of highly heat-conductive fins.
