Transcend has just announced the availability of a new memory card line, one that is both fast and capacious enough to store up to 13,000 10-megapixel photos.

Memory cards are the only means of storing data that cameras, smartphones and many other consumer electronics and professional devices use.

Transcend, being a primary supplier of such devices, has introduced a new collection of CompactFlash cards.

The newcomers have capacities of 8GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and even 64 GB, as well as data transfer rates of up to 90 MB/s.

This performance allowed them to qualify for 600X rating and ensures that both high-quality photos and high-resolution videos can easily be shot and stored.

Furthermore, compliance with the VPG-20 specification enables a sustained video capture at up to 20 MB/s without dropping frames.

Not only that, but the combination of capacity and speed gives the newcomers the sort of long-term reliability that people who loathe switching out cards will appreciate.

According to Transcend, the fastest transfer between card and camera is accomplished when the 64 GB 600X CF card operates in quad-channel arrangement using Ultra DMA (UDMA) mode 7.

Additionally, in order to deal with whatever errors may arise when writing information so quickly, the card features built-in ECC (Error Correction Code) that automatically detects and corrects them.

There is even a wear-leveling algorithm present, which prolongs product lifespan.

All this, along with special compatibility, speed and reliability tests, make for a very appealing storage option if one is a professional cameraman or an enthusiastic, knowledgeable amateur photographer.

Transcend ships the 600X CF cards with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Unfortunately, the prices have not been revealed, but even if they turn out to be huge, people who own cameras good enough to need them probably have no concerns regarding financial resources.
