Transcend may have prepared a number of new memory modules, but it definitely hasn't limited itself to the DRAM segment, having also prepared a NAND Flash-based card, a Class 2 microSDHC card of 32GB to be exact.

As end-users likely know by now, NAND Flash memory cards are used in everything from cellphones to camcorders and their speed rating distinguishes between which is better for a certain application than other.

Transcend's latest card belongs to the microSDHC variety and seems to be the highest-capacity model even, with an internal storage amount of 32 GB.

MicroSDHC cards are, for the most part, encountered in mobile phones, handheld GPS devices, portable gaming consoles, e-readers and other such devices.

The new model developed by Transcend practically doubles the previously-available storage space for such electronics.

Basically, even though it weighs less than a paper clip and measures about as much as a thumb nail, the card can still store a significant amount of pictures or long video footages.

To be more specific, the 32 GB stores up to 480 minutes of Full HD video, a substantial amount of music files or 6552 pictures based on the 10 megapixel JPEG compression format.

“Transcend’s highest capacity microSDHC cards are the most economical memory-expanding solution to increase the amount of built-in memory for expandable mobile devices,” states the official press release.

Of course, this newcomer comes as the latest addition to a line of existing cards, with microSD models having capacities ranging from 512 MB to 2 GB.

As for the actual microSDHC cards, they have capacities of 4 GB to 16 GB, though they are Class 6 cards instead of Class 2.

All of them have a lifetime warranty, are tested for reliability and compatibility and can be paired with a variety of card readers or adapters.

Those seeking to acquire one of these Class 2 32 GB microSDHC cards will have to part with 69 Euro.
