Woody Harrelson is the kind of actor audiences love even if he happens to do a bad movie, which, frankly, happen to every actor out there. With “Rampart,” Woody might finally get the critical recognition he deserves.
As his fans must know, there's no better guy for playing a baddie like Woody. Just think “Natural Born Killers” if you need a term for comparison.
In “Rampart,” he seems to be perfecting the art of being bad, with his take on a corrupt cop that struggles for his own survival and his family's.
The film is set in 1999 Los Angeles and will reportedly put Harrelson in the Oscar race or, at the very least, consolidate his reputation as a solid actor – if further consolidation was needed.
The all-star cast also includes Cynthia Nixon, Ben Foster, Sigourney Weaver, Robin Wright, Steve Buscemi and Ice Cube.
“Rampart” is out in theaters on January 27, 2012.
