Trailer for 'Prometheus' Is Here, Jaw-Dropping

After a lot of teasing, it's finally here: the first trailer for Ridley Scott's insanely hyped “Alien” prequel / reboot “Prometheus” is finally here. Check it out in HD above.

Fans of the franchise must already know that Scott has long vowed to return to the “Alien” mythology for a new take on the story but, at the same time, he's always been adamant “Prometheus” can work as a standalone film as well.

Either way, the action takes place before the events in the 1979 film.

As you can see, the teaser does nothing in terms of revealing the plot or the characters, but we do get the distinct impression that this movie is going to be of huge proportions, truly epic.

Scott is a master at building atmosphere – and it's on that the trailer relies heavily.

“Prometheus” also boasts an A-list cast including Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara, Guy Pearce and Patrick Wilson. It will be out on June 8, 2012.
