TrailRunner is a Mac OS X application for long distance runners. With the release of version 1.7 two weeks ago, the solution for runners also added support for users of Nike + Apple gear. The latest version removes some memory leaks, sports a much improved map load performance, and adds shortcut commands for the map-tools, to name just a few enhancements.

As noted in the introduction, with the release of version 1.7 of Berbie's route planning software, users can now display their collected workout data within the program, which matches the recordings with routes created by the user. It analyzes the user's performance with its own tools. Using TrailRunner, you can determine how long or how effective your workouts are, and what route you should choose for a given scenario. It can calculate a route for your desired distance and export directions onto your iPod. This way, you are sure to get a detailed orientation without having to pause your workout.

With the release of TrailRunner 1.7.244 Beta, the program includes:

- Some memory leaks removed. - Much improved the map load performance. - Added shortcut commands for the map-tools: [s]elect, [h]and, [z]oom, [w]waypoint, [t]track (vidar). - Added a keyhole hybrid overlay. (marc, mark, marcus, et al.) - The contour overlay no longer shows "zoom out" and "no contour" messages. (christoper, alex, alastair, et. al.) - Improved behavior for loading maps with more than one document open.

To avoid unfair use black-listing of the keyhole satellite imagery service, the development team has throttled the image request frequency. They also found another "ensure failed for _layoutSection" cause, according to the changelog.

The latest and current version of the route planning software for Mac OS X, version 1.7.245 Beta, adds improved ForeRunner 405 TCX workout import and fixes an error occurring when opening the exercise plan.
